I was watching the CBS news tonight to catch up on the latest horrifying terrorist massacre.
Neglecting to turn off the rest of CBS’s take on the “news”, as they see it, I was quite surprised to find out that “the course of the Democratic race was also unchanged” after yesterday’s voting, and then that “Hillary Clinton is pulling away”, no numbers mentioned. Well, that didn't make sense to me, as I had received an email from the Sanders campaign saying that the 3-state delegate cumulative was a gain for Bernie. So, I checked.
And sure enough, among Arizona, Utah and Idaho, Bernie got 75 pledged delegates and Hillary got 56. Then I checked again, with the "super" delegates (Democratic Party insiders) added in, and that showed Bernie picking up 76 delegates and Hillary 63. Bernie also had picked up 5 more pledged delegates over Hillary just a few days ago from the "Democrats abroad" primary voting count. (Bernie by 9 to 4) So, how in hell does this all translate into Clinton "continuing to pull ahead"? Is that some new bizarro way of saying "still ahead, but losing ground"? Please, check my math! I feel like I've stumbled into some alternate reality!
Oh, right. I was watching CBS “news”. Remind me not to do that again.
